How to Use a For the past few years, I have been handbuilding my work using bisque molds for the bases of the pieces. The bisque molds are just shallow bowls with a groove carved into them at leather hard, which becomes the foot on the finished piece.

Mike Griffin also uses this method and came up with a far more clever and hilarious name for the molds than me! Mike calls his molds "bowl butts" and uses them as the base for his primarily coil built work. In today's post, Mike shares how he uses his bowl butts to create the base of a casserole dish.
