Can you help? Hurricanes, floods, and fires have devastated parts of the ceramic arts community in the United States. Many have lost everything!

Please consider joining us in donating to the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+) to support these artists in their recovery.   Donate here!

ICAN—the premiere organization for ceramic artists!

Being an ICAN member means being part of a community of like-minded artists—artists who love to make, discover, watch, listen, read about, and share all things ceramics. Visiting the ICAN website not only means discovering new tips and techniques to help you be a better ceramic artist, but it also provides members with a place to be involved, a place to share ideas, a place to meet fellow artists with similar interests, and a place to show off your hard work in the studio. Whether you are a beginner, have a few classes under your belt, or are a seasoned veteran, you have landed in the right place.

If you are a member already, scroll down and get involved: Submit images of your artwork, to the latest ICAN contest, watch the Cultural Tours video to learn about all the places ICAN goes, or read about your fellow ICAN members in the Artist Portfolios section. Then, add your own portfolio! If you are not a member, joining ICAN gives you the resources and community support you need to be a better ceramic artist.

  • Bali: Awakening the Senses

    October 14 to 25, 2024

Ubud, the home of Gaya Ceramic Arts Center, is, in many ways, Bali’s cultural heart. It’s in the cool mountains and home to one of Bali’s royal families—you can even visit the majestic palace in the center of town. Ubud is also well known as a flourishing crafts center. There are hundreds of shops making, displaying, and selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, textiles, paintings, and jewelry in Ubud, along with some incredible art museums and galleries. The surrounding Ubud district’s rain forest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali’s most famous landscapes. Ancient holy sites include the intricately carved Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave) and Gunung Kawi, with its rock-cut shrines. The ICAN trip to Bali will include guided tours of the island’s culture, art, and architecture along with in-depth, hands-on, ceramic workshops at the world-renowned Gaya Ceramic Arts Center.
