Artist Statement
I am always on the search for diverse formats to express myself. Working with ceramics, steel, and found objects is always versatile and unpredictable. Mixing these very different materials together allows me to
create pieces with strong emotional content. When I create a piece, I like to include little details with large symbolic value. I rely on strong, bold colors in my glass paintings to separate them from the metal frame and found objects that bring
the piece to life. The shapes and design of the steel structures that hold my pieces together are inspired by urban landscapes and architectural designs. With every piece, I strive to solicit an emotional response drawn not only from the subject matter,
but also from the overall composure of the piece. Each new body of work enhances my desire to continue creating communicative pieces for others to enjoy.
