step-by-step process of crafting purposeful pottery that seamlessly blends form, function, and surface with Adrienne Eliades. During this 2-hour instructional workshop, there will be demonstration and discussion on designing a custom lidded butter
dish with precision using clay slabs. Essential handbuilding principles, from slab preparation and construction to detailed underglaze application techniques will be shown. Gain the skills and tools to make bespoke clay work with confidence.
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner – Intermediate
Adrienne will demonstrate how to:
Handbuild a butter dish using Tyvek templates
Design and craft accurate, repeatable forms
Create harmony of design elements with a focus on function
Use underglaze like paint with surface design techniques such as trailing, stenciling, and resist methods on leather-hard clay
Translate your form and surface ideas to create personalized work
