Follow the journey of a functional ceramic object from the initial sketch to the kitchen counter with Brenton Duhan of Studio B-Du. Over the course of this 2-hour all-demonstration workshop, the process of mocking up new ideas, turning them into repeatable templates, and slab building with texture will be covered. Topics will include continuity of design elements and tweaking forms over time.

You’ll learn how to:
  • Handbuild a butter dish using slab construction

  • Experiment quickly with new forms by making simple mock-ups

  • Make a template to repeatedly transform flat slabs into three-dimensional functional objects

  • Add design elements to your templates to make slabs with extra texture and visual interest

  • Create continuity between different elements by using repeating motifs

Registrants will be emailed a link to the recording within 48 hours of the webinar's conclusion) and will have access to it for 90 DAYS to revisit techniques!  Registrants will also receive a link to a PDF resource document in the confirmation email.

SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE (ALTHOUGH BEGINNERS WILL FIND PLENTY OF INSPIRATION!)
