Instructions

This clay body is plastic and does very well with wheel-throwing and handbuilding techniques. The fired clay comes out a nice blush orange. To intensify the orange color, add more Lizella in substitution of ball clay. However, this will weaken the clay body’s plasticity. For ball clays, I generally use KT 1-4 but OM 4 is also great. As for grog, I have recently been using a combination of 100-mesh molochite and 48-mesh molochite. The raw clay can be seen on the handle and foot of the mug. Grog can be added in a range of 5-10%.
