Matthew Krousey received his BFA in ceramics from the University of
Minnesota–Twin Cities in 2008. He served for 9 years in the military and
is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Krousey’s ceramic vessels and
sculptures have been exhibited in the U.S. and internationally,
including an exhibition at Sanbao Ceramic Institute in Jingdezhen,
China. Krousey grew up and currently resides in rural Minnesota where
the hardwood forest meets the vast expanse of the prairie. As a child,
his days were spent roaming the woods, fishing the rivers, and exploring
the fields. This landscape is the purpose for his artwork. He creates
functional stoneware and porcelain pottery decorated with abstract
imagery of our vanishing flora, fauna and native landscapes. To learn
