Large, coil-built serving bowls sometimes have a tendency to get a little too wonky in the making process - for me anyway! It can be a challenge getting a nice swooping curve in the walls without them collapsing or without pausing a lot to let the clay stiffen up.

That's why I loved Mary Drabik's take on coil-built serving bowls. Mary builds her large serving bowls upside down, which gives her more control over the shape, and also speeds up the building process.
