Montana, Missoula “It’s the Little Things” (February 7–March 1, 2025). Open to artists in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, ”It’s the Little Things” at the Clay Studio of Missoula aims to highlight small-scale ceramic work—be it functional or sculptural—that emphasizes the significance of the subtle, the detailed, and the thoughtfully conceived. While scale plays a pivotal role, we seek works that capture attention through their meticulous craftsmanship, innovative concepts, or compelling techniques. This exhibition aspires to showcase how even the smallest works can evoke powerful emotions, tell compelling stories, and create a lasting impact. Work must address the theme formally and or conceptually, be made primarily out of clay, and must measure no more than 10” in any direction. The artist is responsible for freight and insurance on the work to and from Missoula, Montana. The Clay Studio is responsible for insurance during the exhibition. All work must be for sale. Work that differs from the submitted image will be disqualified. Artists may submit images for up to two entries, and a maximum of two images for each entry. Florida, Panama City “Seventeenth Annual Cup Show – Form and Function” (November 15–December 6). Open to any artists living or working in the US or Canada, ages 18 and over. Gulf Coast State College Amelia Center Gallery is hosting its annual juried exhibition that explores the idea of the drinking vessel. The focus of the exhibit is on the function and concept of the drinking vessel, including its relation to history, politics, craft, technology, utility, and narrative. Ohio, Rocky River “A New Century: Ceramics Inspired by the Legacy of Art Deco” (January 30–December 7, 2025). Open to any artists living in the US ages 18 and over. Rocky River Public Library and the Cowan Pottery Museum are looking for work for their first yearlong group exhibition. 2025 marks the century anniversary of the ”International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts,” which coined the term Art Deco. This call is open to contemporary ceramic works that are inspired by this historic period and its themes (geometric design, stylized forms, artistic and technological innovations, etc.). North Carolina, Calabash “Fired: Artistry in Clay” (March 15–April 19, 2025). Open to all ceramic artists over the age of 18, who reside in North or South Carolina. Fired is a show and sale of all things ceramic. Clay is a material with infinite possibilities. This show seeks to explore what North Carolina and South Carolina artists are doing with it.
