Instructions

The base for this glossy recipe is Naomi Clement’s Clear. Mix dry ingredients into enough water to completely hydrate the materials and soak overnight in a 5-gallon bucket. Before sieving, add enough water to make the mixture thinner, like the consistency of cream. Mix well and sieve through an 80-mesh sieve, rinse, and add a little more water to thin to the consistency of skim milk. Dip a test tile and fire. I use this as a dipping glaze. At Mud Queen Pottery, we mix an 8000-gram batch in a 5-gallon bucket and apply by dipping.
