I use four different flashing slips in my practice, but the one that gets the toasty reds in my work is this simple EPK flashing slip that I got from Bede Clarke.

I mix this slip to a cream-like consistency and then typically water it down to a thin application, similar to skim or almond milk. To help with settling, add a tablespoon or two of Epsom salts per batch of 10,000 grams. I dip pieces for 3 seconds and then clean up the foot rings to allow for wadding.
