Instructions
For the soda feldspar, I suggest using Minspar 200. Mix to a slightly thick consistency (like heavy cream) and apply to bisqueware via dipping, pouring, or spraying.
This glaze is fired in a train-style wood kiln using mixed hardwoods. Firing duration and temperature: 27-hour firing to cone 10–11, cooled in reduction for roughly 6 hours (stoking 4 small to medium sticks of side-stoke wood in the primary air and side-stoke ports about every 15 minutes until the temperature reached 1500°F (816°C) in the front of the kiln and 1600°F (871°C) in the back of the kiln).
This recipe was shared by Seth Green in the December 2021 issue of Ceramics Monthly.
