The opaque iron-yellow color is produced through a combination of the iron in the Ravenscrag slip and the added titanium dioxide. Though opaque, the glaze does break over texture. The surface ranges from satin (at the lower end of the range) to gloss (at cone 7). The ideal specific gravity for the glaze is 1.45.
