This glaze is a bit shinier than HAA2. It can be fired over a broader temperature range, but it can be a bit runny if fired over cone 10. It breaks brown on edges and gives better results when thin. I use it for dipping in a thin mixture but, with care, it can be also brushed on.

The interaction with the impurities found in the clay I collect gives a rough finish.

When I want a white satin glaze, I use a combination of the HAA2 and Oatmeal White glazes in different coats, which results in a deep and interesting surface. This glaze is also useful when refiring with HAA2, to lower the melting temperature.
