Specific gravity: 1.60 (but can range from 1.25 to 1.60). I applied this glaze by brushing on two coats. Like any other crawling glaze, this needs to be applied thickly. When drying, the glaze should crack, but not lift.

John’s Beads melts better at cone 6 for raised, smooth, round islands or beads, rather than rough-edged beads like in Ball Crawl (see page 51). This difference in texture is due to the additional flux from zinc, a strong flux at cone 6.
