This is a low-fire, satin transparent blue-green glaze. This glaze can be fired to higher temperatures when layered with other glazes or fired in a soda kiln. It will bubble if fired alone to cone 6. This glaze contains barium and is not food safe.
Mix all dry ingredients together prior to adding the water. after mixing, sieve the glaze through at least an 80-mesh screen to remove lumps and disperse any colorants evenly. Julia Galloway has found that when layered over Hamada Base or Some Bright Green glazes and fired to cone six, this glaze helps the other to run beautifully. Galloway also uses this glaze applied lightly over slip inlay to encourage a streaky blue running glaze.
