Artist Statement: The creation of Swanica’s ceramic art expresses her close connection to Mother Nature, and meaning of life, and search for harmony. The forms are shaped in a unique form and transformed by adding lines all used in the Raku Horsehair technique firing.

Studio Description:  Swanica has a complete workshop and gallery to show her final art works.

What type of clay do you use? White groggy high fire clay and red low-fire clay.

What temperature do you fire to? Bisque at cone 04, glaze at cone 06, raku at 1100.

What is your primary forming method? Throwing.

What is your favorite surface treatment? Raku horsehair and fuming and Kamakura-Red glaze.

Do you make any of your own tools? No.

What one word would you use to describe your work? Creative and colorful.

What is your favorite thing about your studio? Having fun.

What is the one thing in your studio you can’t live without? Kiln.

How do you recharge creatively? Listening to music.

Why do you create art? To center myself; create art for others to color people's life.
