Artist Statement I try hard to emulate nature. My goal is to acknowledge the grace and elegance of flora, the fluidity of fauna, and the struggle between the balance of dignity and destruction brought on by time. Creating the feeling that an object will scamper off if you glance away is always at the top of my list of goals.

What did your first piece look like? My first piece was a 4–5" black bottle with a 1/8" opening that I made in High School in 1982.
