Artist Statement: 

Over 30 years in management consulting - retired in 2014, setup my studio in 2015. My art is inspired by the surrealist and Dadaist masters, literature, history, science fiction, my travels and my experiences. 1st solo show in 2017 selected by a jury.

Studio Description: 

Small studio. Isolated. Work alone. Electric kiln.

What type of clay do you use?

Stoneware.

What temperature do you fire to?

1180-1200C

What is your primary forming method?

Handbuild.

What is your favorite surface treatment?  

Underglaze colors + transparent glaze.

Do you make any of your own tools?

Yes - shaping tools, texturing tools.

What one word would you use to describe your work?

Surreal.

What is your favorite thing about your studio?  

The solitude.

What is the one thing in your studio you can’t live without?  

Music

Better consistency of glazing

Repurpose, reuse

Why do you create art?  

My art is about ideas (sometimes bizarre) and I love the process of converting the ideas into physical shapes

What is your best studio tip?  

Experiment, make lots of mistakes - the best way to learn
