Clay has got me by the neck.

Studio Description:
Absolute chaos.

What type of clay do you use?
Terra Cotta, B-Mix.

What temperature do you fire to?
Up to cone 6.

What is your primary forming method?
Hand-building.

Do you make any of your own tools?
Yes. Sculpting tools out of shim stock and wood.

What one word would you use to describe your work?
Improved.

What is your favorite thing about your studio?
TV, music, solitude.

What is the one thing in your studio you can’t live without?
Clay.

What are your top three studio wishes?
I'm starting to make bigger pieces. Need a bigger kiln.

What’s on your current reading list? '
The woman who smashed codes," by Jason Fagone.

How do you save money on materials and supplies?
I never throw anything away. A mixture of all my clays is ugly but glasses fix that.

How do you recharge creatively?
I plug it in.

What challenges have you given yourself to overcome?
Want to sculpt bigger. Hands and feet are tough!

What did you first piece look like?
Surprisingly my first piece is my best so far.

What ceramic superpower would you have and why?
Time travel.

Why do you create art?
Can't help it.

What is your best studio tip?
Make friends with someone with a bigger kiln.

If you could change one property of clay, what would it be?
I used to be a wood turner. Clay that is like wood would be a blast.
