Artist Statement:
I was an oil painter until I fell in love with the tactile and always unpredictable clay I work.

Studio Description:
My studio is a small wooden space, divided into making area and shelves for display. I have two Shimpo wheels and an electric kiln where I bisque fire. Outside I have a larger kiln that I converted to a soda kiln where I glaze fire.

What type of clay do you use?
Porcelain, stoneware

What temperature do you fire to?
^10 (sometimes ^6)

What is your primary forming method?
Wheel thrown

What is your favorite surface treatment?
I enjoy textured surfaces using anything I get my hand on

Do you make any of your own tools?
I make my own stamps and sprigs which I use to texture the surfaces of my pots.

What one word would you use to describe your work?
Earthy

What is your favorite thing about your studio?
It reminds me that miracles happen
