Studio Description:

My work is about my personal experience and exploration of the world around me. I am drawn, especially to landscape. As a potter, I refer to my work using human attributes. Some of my work may appear to have a hat or a head with a neck and shoulders to support it. They have bellies and a foot to ground them. I make each vessel unique, just as we as individuals each have our own unique qualities. Being surrounded by mountains in the valley that I work and live in inspires me to use flowing and natural curves in my work. My surface treatment includes glazes made from natural elements. Metals such as copper, cobalt, manganese, iron, and titanium make up my vibrant color palette. I love to experiment with different types of firing such as soda, salt, gas, and wood firing.
