Studio Description
Skutt Cone 5 Kiln, added a Lockerbie Kickwheel (no motor!!!) this week. A very messy garage of useful junk in need of a good home!

Stoneware

What temperature do you fire to?
Cone 5

What is your primary forming method?
Slabs and pressed forms, thrown forms and then carved and sculpted

What is your favorite surface treatment? 
Clear glaze base, color glaze bleed

Do you make any of your own tools? 
Templates...Lots and lots of templates!

What one word would you use to describe your work?
Unique

What is your favorite thing about your studio?   
Versatile

What is the one thing in your studio you can’t live without? 
Slab roller

What are your top three studio wishes?
30" North Star Super Slab roller, Package North Star Big Blue Extruder, An Organized Studio (Pure Fantasy)

The Science of Glazes

How do you save money on materials and supplies?
Not sure yet

How do you recharge creatively?
BIG BOX of Shapes...I rescue trashed items to salvage unique shapes and structures to use as a springboard for further exploration!

Do you have any DIY tips for studio efficiency?
Roll a bunch of slabs and store them in a large shallow plastic Damp Box. Thick plastic sheets separate each slab...Now I can ROLL!

What challenges have you given yourself to overcome?
Understanding the basic elementary particles of clay...and moisture control!

What did your first piece look like?
Very simple slab with triangular vertical slabs mimicking water, waves and flames to hold 3 tea lights

What ceramic superpower would you have and why?
GlazeMaster! You can have the most perfect form... a great glaze will enhance it... a horrible glaze will DESTROY it!!!

Not sure yet
