Studio Description
I have been a potter for about 6 years. I started and am still studying under Master Potter Jack Vartanian. He has been a potter for over 50 years. I work in his studio called Stoneware Pottery by Jack Vartanian & Friends in Punta Gorda, Florida. We have a retail shop there as well to sell our work. I work with stoneware and porcelain fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. I produce both functional and decorative wares. Almost all my work is wheel thrown. I love the wheel. I particularly enjoy producing decorative/functional mixed-media pottery.
I work full-time (every day) at producing pottery, and I assist in teaching pottery classes at our local Visual Arts Center. I sell my work in the retail shop in our studio and also do art shows throughout the Florida region. I also have an Etsy shop called PotteryMerchant. I sell smaller items on there because I do not trust shipping large items.
My goal is to keep producing and promoting myself. I would like to be well known as a potter. I have a Facebook page, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. All are either under Pottery Merchant or Pottery by Suzanne Conley.
