Studio Description
My rural life in both South Carolina and Montana has inspired marks, carvings, and layered glazes on each form. Reflections on newly plowed fields, ripples, and movement in streams, and the fumaroles of Yellowstone National Park have influenced each one-of-a-kind piece. Altering and carving the clay is reminiscent of images from my surroundings. The sculptural pieces are observations of my own herd of horses and the abundant wildlife that is a part of my studio setting. The forever learning process of ceramic formation, glazing- and single firing continues to inspire year after year.
