Studio Description
I live in the countryside in an old farmhouse (built 1860). I built my studio inside the barn where I often forget time and space while I’m working.
What type of clay do you use?
Different types, brown speckle, white, red, black.
What temperature do you fire to?
Mostly 1230° C.
What is your primary forming method?
Handbuilding
What is your favorite surface treatment?
I like to play with pattern, color and glaze.
Do you make any of your own tools?
Not yet.
What one word would you use to describe your work?
Nature
What is your favorite thing about your studio?
It’s in my own house.
What is the one thing in your studio you can’t live without?
Hard to say … my slaproller.
What are your top three studio wishes?
I need a chimney to install a wooden stove, more space, and a slow drying cabinet.
What’s on your current reading list?
I’ve no time for reading.
How do you save money on materials and supplies?
I recycle my clay.
How do you recharge creatively?
Walking in the nature and let your thoughts flow. Sitting on my favorite bench nearby my house and enjoying the awesome overlook up to 120km.

What challenges have you given yourself to overcome?
No challenges. After my first ceramic class in the workhouse (Lorton, Virginia) I was addict and my way clear.
What did you first piece look like?
A crabby little bowl
What ceramic superpower would you have and why?
Get rid of the “elefantfood” while I try to center clay on the wheel.

From Led Zeppelin to Jethro Tull, Jonny Cash, Celine Dion, to Angus and Julia S.
