Artist Statement
I’m passionate about the woman figure and her emotions and feelings. This is what I try to capture on my sculptures. I don’t plan, I don’t sketch. Clay is docile and gives me the freedom I need to create from my soul.

Studio Description 
I work in my own studio and go to work in a ceramics studio where I teach and interact with different artists.

Stoneware, raku, terracota

Cone 5

What is your primary forming method?
Solid forms

What is your favorite surface treatment?
Under-glazes

Do you make any of your own tools?
I try to use my hands and not depend on tools.

What one word would you use to describe your work?
Expression

What is your favorite thing about your studio?
It is my place in the world.

What is the one thing in your studio you can’t live without?
Silence

More natural light and more storage areas

What did you first piece look like?
I’m a potter, so one day I started playing with clay on a break from my wheel session, and I’ve never stopped! I loved my first woman. I sold it, and regret.

What ceramic superpower would you have and why?
To recycle clay by looking at it!

Why do you create art?
I don’t know what else to do, believe me I tried to give it up, and it comes back to me every time! I gave up!

What is your best studio tip?
To show up even if you are only in the mood to clean up!
