Emerging Artist 2013: Alanna DeRocchi – Helena, Montana

The deliberate pairing of animal and environment is the strength of DeRocchi’s work. A seamless flow of visual information, typical of elaborately staged natural history museum displays, is bound within the animated forms and their surfaces. Together this creates a subtle and engaging tension.
