  • Ik was blij en verrast met je selectie en nu ik hoor dat je gewonnen hebt moet ik je zeker feliciteren. Met vriendelijke groet, Dirk Janssen

  • It’s so nice to see someone in her fifties chosen as an emerging artist.

Here in Japan, if you’re not in your twenties or early thirties, they don’t even consider you for such a competition.

I’m so happy for her and her work is truly beautiful.

So maybe there is still hope for people like me ? who started pottery at 41 and am now in my fifties too!. 😉

  • Congtats to Ann…she is doing work that is true to “herself” and speaks to others at the same time. Being over 50 in the clay world is not unusual….we become better with time and the presence of mind to express ourselves freely.

  • Congrats to Ann! Amazing accomplishment in creating work that is from her heart, simple form beautiful technique. Many of us are only scratching the surface at age 50.

  • Thank you for sharing Ann’s work and accomplishment. It is inspirational and her design simplicity is chic and elegant. Congrats, Ann!

  • Brilliant, simple, intriguing forms and exciting technique. I love the giant scissors for getting a very clean cut at the edge!

  • I love to see non traditional tools and methods combined with tradition and it is very inspiring to see a woman beginning a new path and succeeding in the second half of life. Thanks, Ann Van Hoey, for your two-fold inspiration!

Dank je, Ann Van Hoey, voor je twee soorten van inspiratie!
