I use this as a base glaze and have added a variety of stains. Different stains cause the craters to expand more, particularly red and yellow. I also get larger craters with faster firing. I apply it thickly with a brush.

  • The layers of stain creating depth overlaid by the chaotic twists and threatening shadow creating volcanic drips shapes emphasizes the iconic nature of these forms. Size is not determining the stature of these mysterious objects.
