Naples-Wagner Satin Clear Cone 04Firing temperature : cone 04 | Surface texture : satin | Color : brown | Atmosphere: Oxidation
This is a cone-04 version of the satin clear I fire to cone 1–2. The density used for this satin clear glaze is 1.46. To measure density accurately, use a density cup. Regulating density is extremely important with this particular glaze. If it’s too dense, it can become glossy or even approach an opaque quality. If it isn’t dense enough, there won’t be a rich surface. To cultivate the satin surface, fire the kiln down between 1900°F and 1400°F at a rate of 100°F per hour. Also note that the wollastonite is your matting agent so adjust accordingly.
